Lindsay

Your pictures are ready Linds!
I had fun taking your pictures and want to take more. Here's a teaser. One of my new favorites. Go to my flickr site to view the rest of the proofs from your shoot.

Early Morning

I've been very busy learning new programs lately and haven't been able to post much. I have some fun new photos that I am excited to share and will be adding them to my new website - still under constuction. Here's a preview of one of my new favorites. Shot the other day during our campout. We watched the sunrise and the fog on the lake lift. It was amazing. Here my MIL takes her morning cup of coffee out with her as she wades in the cool and yet warm lake water. Oh, it was good to be outside in the early morning and beat the sun up!

Sweet or Testing the Limits?

He's totally testing the limits! Our 3-year-old is just full of it lately and has now developed the wicked laugh and snicker! Last night he was running around the yard in his jammies while I was outside practicing some sunflare shots. He and his sissy were jumping on the trampoline and having a great time. The sun was just setting into the treetops of our woods and the mosquitoes were coming out in full fledge (at least for me, they love me!). Well, after buzzing around as much as the bugs, our son decided to sit down and be still for a moment. What an opportunity and I jumped at the shot. You can almost see the thoughts running in his head of what he wants to do next! Well, I'll tell you. After this shot, he sprang up and quickly tackled his 6-year-old sister who was nearby on the trampoline and grabbed her by the hair and yanked. He pinned her down and she was screaming (pretty typical). It amazes me how he, who weighs nearly 30 lbs less than her, can pin her down! She's very strong too. Aw,,,, sisterly love. Sweet one moment and a bugger the next. Gotta love them threes.

New Website - Under Construction

I am so happy to be able to announce that I will be getting a formal website for my photography business. Horray!!! I can hardly wait. My dear sweet hubby has been recruited for the task of aiding me in the construction and will be adding web designer to his resume. HA. I am excited to see what we can create together. This website will have my current portfolio, services information, proofing corner, link to this blog, music (did I say music!!!) for viewing pleasure, and hopefully online print ordering! Wohooo! Can you tell I'm so excited?! I am... and I hope you are too. So, keep checking in on me here and you might just see a big announcement saying "ITS HERE!"

"I just want to take this time to say thank you to my family, friends and fans alike (you know who you are) and fellow photographers (you know who you are too) who follow my work and development and have encouraged me to grow and to realize my dreams. Thank you to my ever supportive hubby for putting up with my fretting, daily picture-taking, running me all over to shoots and shoot locations for scouting, being my accountant and finanical advisor (he's keeping me in line and reminds me of my bottom line), and being my best friend and biggest fan (even if he's not a photo-holic like me and swears I will never get him behind the camera. I'm still working on him!). And a special thank you to my kids for being patient with me during this busy time. I appreciate you all!" -Angela

The Backside of Fitness

I had a special assignment shoot yesterday with these lovely ladies. My assignment was to capture their backsides while they did a stretch on the ballet bar. Yup, their buns. They were all too excited for this most unconventional shoot and came in very willing to pose. All dressed up in matching black pants and colored tees they lined up on the bar and got into their places. No need to worry about forced smiles or closed eyes during this pose.

(Above Print: Bottoms 1 - 5x10 - $20)

(Above print: Bottoms 1 BW - 5x10 $20)

With my assignment shot taken successfully, I decided to take this opportunity to capture some additional shots for fun. With a few "ick's" and words of "my face is going to be in the picture.... I was told this was just a butt shot." I was able to lead the group through several poses including this shot on exercise balls.

(Above Print: Bottoms 5 - 5x10 - $20)

And of course I couldn't resist capturing them from the front during the assignment pose.

(Above Print: Bottoms 2 BW - 4x6 $10, 5x7 $12, 8x12 $30)

(Above print: Bottoms 3 - 5x5 $12)

(Above print: Bottoms 3 BW - 5x5 $12)

It was a pleasure capturing you in your place of fitness!
Thank you for allowing me to capture you during your special workout time. It was great to meet some new faces and to capture some dear friends for my special mother-in-law.

Please email me your order with the print number "Bottom 2 BW" and size "4x6" and quantity. I will process your order and send you email confirmation.

Thank you.

Mary + David

Introducing Mary and David!
When I found out they were engaged I just couldn't wait to try my hand at an engagement shoot! I've known Mary a long time and this was the first time for me to meet her man Dave. It was fun and unique to get to know him during the shoot. Talk about ice breakers! He was a good sport. (Thanks Dave!) I think he had fun with all the kissing I had them doing. =) This was my first urban/city shoot and they were a bit nervous as to what to expect. We were in the thick of heavy crowds and we weren't quite sure how hot and steamy our shoot could go with all the spectators! But ya know what? People don't care! Really, after we got started with our shoot and we walked and they posed people either walked around us, infront of us (not too much, thanks all for being so considerate!), and just overall going about their hustle and bustle business without a care to us. We toured our shoot around Pike Place Market (photos available on flickr soon!) and some alley ways. Did I mention there's so much to see?! Photo ops gallore. People watching is also so much fun! Anyway, it was a great session and I'm happy to present some previews of their shoot.
Thank you Mary & David!

Dave is practicing for the dance dip. =)

Would you believe we had just met not 15 minutes earlier and already I have them making out on the backside of a building! Did I mention they were such good sports?!!

I just love this one.

Aw, young love! Just glowing with happiness.

This was one of the first pics I shot of them. So natural infront of the camera! I love it! Always at ease.
THANK YOU!

Baby Blues

I just can't get enough of our son's baby blues!
The other day we were having lunch at a harborside restaurant on their outside deck enjoying the sun that we haven't had much of lately. Here our son looks out at the many boats pondering which he likes the best. I couldn't resist getting my camera out as the lighting was great for those baby blues. He was seated in the shady part of our table and thus the sunlit harbor brightened up his face beautifully. I'm happy that the blue chair he was sitting in is in the picture for blue is his favorite color. It was so uplifting to be by the water again. We have been in WA for two months now and have enjoyed our families company very much. Even so, we miss Maine deeply and dream of the day of our return. We shall see what the future brings. The job-hunt here is proving better than in Maine and Jared has more prospects. He continues to apply at new jobs which seems like daily. Many in WA and now new ones out of state. Summer is quickly winding down and school days quickly approaching. It is looking like I will be homeschooling again this year.

Kenzie

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting a young girl and her horse Ribbon in preparation for an upcoming fair show. Meet Kenzie. She's a beautiful and charming young lady with a passion for horses and shares her room with an enormous collection of Breyer horse models. Thank you Kenzie for allowing me to take your picture and for putting up with the misty rain we had. I think you are beautiful and I can hardly wait for our urban seattle shoot! We must dance to music for our next shoot. =) Please visit my flickr proofing site (link to the right of this) to view all of your proofs from yesterdays shoot. Enjoy!

This last picture I let my creative side loose. I just love silouettes and a perfect location posed just the opportunity on her front porch. Their family dog "Archie" was so curious about what we were doing and really wanted to be photographed. He followed us around and perked up looking ever so handsome hopeful to be in the shot. Here he is as I was having Kenzie pose for a silouette. I really like his location and thus processed this photo as a poster card. Fun huh.

the kiddos

I took some shots of the kiddos the other day. Much to my surprise Little Missy was asking for me to take her picture as she relaxed on a nearby stump. Her brother was riding his Grama's horse into the woods and she was waiting for her turn to ride. Taking turns. Not an easy thing to like. The woods were dark and this picture was taken in the evening light around 7:30pm. Natural lighting. Her face was lit by the sun-kissed field that she was facing. I love the effect of the black background that was the result of this location. Oh, and she insists on wearing her bikini top under her shirts and says, "Mom, it's my bra!"
Here is "Little Man" watching Grama saddle up Hawk. He waits infront of the horse blanket that is drapped over the fence. I thought the lines and color was great so I snapped a few shots. I loved converting it to black and white for the high contrast and texture. I'm really liking black and whites for the clean simplicity.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I have some fun shoots coming up and will be posting them after this weekend. =)

Heart of Gold

"My grama has a heart of gold.
She loves her horse so deeply that tears come to her eyes.

She is a nice grama.
She plays all day in the nice sun.
Whenever I ask her for something she always gets it for me.

She is a good person.
She is someone I love very much.
She has hair that is so beautiful and brown.
And her eyes are loving and gentle.

I love it when we go outside and play together picking flowers and riding Hawk.
I love you Grama."
Love,
M.E.
(6-years-old)

cooling off

Gotta hose? Do you like to get wet? Do you love getting water up your nose? She does! I couldn't resist running inside to grab my camera to capture our daughter entertaining herself with the garden hose.

Today is the first day of August! This is my favorite month. I just love the warm summer evenings, hum of the bees, the many fragrances of flowers and trees, and the sunsets. Aw... it is heavenly.

My blog is under construction as I am working on developing a fresh new look.
