New Glass & Hats
Angela Schwartz Photography has recently made some big glass changes, two new lenses! I must say, that I am in love with one of these new lenses! Oh, this long awaited for lens! Check out these shots taken in my home studio space today with natural window light on this most unusual dark and rainy day! Oh my! Handheld, natural light. Yum! Oh the clarity. My son was more than happy to play with me for a few pics today and I was most delighted. He was so happy because I let him take a few self portraits using a tripod with the romote shutter. He very much enjoyed that. This captures one of my favorite grins that he does.
I just love it when he's willing to play with me. :) After this shot I showed him the LCD and he said, "mom, don't you like my face and how still I was being for this picture?" I replied, "oh yes, you did very well." It makes me smile inside to think that I've photographed him so much now that he knows just what to do without me even having to ask!
And, I've become a hat maniac. Crocheting one a day. This hat was made for my very sweet nephew, Colby! Here you go Colby! I hope that it fits you now. I must say it fits me. It's quite stretchy so you should be able to wear this a long time if you want. I will mail it to you soon. These are fun to make and exciting for the fact that I never know how they will turn out! The finished product is always a surprise and joy to see what it will look like when I put it on my kids heads. They have been very gracious to allow me to use their heads for many tests along the way while I'm making them too. Thank you!
Have a great weekend!

White Beanie Hat
I found a pattern that I liked and gave it a try this morning. Here's another white beanie hat. I like the dc and scallops pattern. Very classic and oh well I'll say it, coastal. :) I felt like a black and white pic so here you go. Hat is in white cotton yarn. No flower on this one but could certainly add one. My daughter wanted to wear it to school today so looks like I'm going to have to make a couple more of these. I think I'm going to make one in red for the beach.

Tuesday
So, I had a request for a white hat. :) So today I got some white yarn and played around with making a pattern. Came up with this one. It fits my daughter but the material is 100% cotton and is likely easy to shrink. Anyway, I'm going to make a couple more and play with some stitching. I thought the touch of a flower would be fun. It will be safety pined on so it can be positioned on either side of the head for the preference of the wearer. I quickly ran outside for this shot, taken 1 minute before the sun set into the horizon. It slips away so quickly now...I think it was 6:20pm.
And more happenings today. I got some new lenses and was testing them out. Got my first macro. Yippee. I quickly ran outside and did some test shots handheld. Not bad! Too fun.
Oh my then I decided to get up very close to my son and see just how close I could get. Well, a 4-year-old doesn't hold still too long so while I think I could've gotten even closer still this is as close as I got. Very sharp lens. :)
Some exciting travels coming down the line soon for ASP. :) More to come on that one.....

The Vast Sky Overhead
School may be in session now but Summer isn't totally over and done with. A gorgeous summer's day was had yesterday. Warm and breezy and with bright puffy clouds. Similar to this shot that I took last week. The morning air is brisk some mornings now but yesterday was warm at 80 degrees. So sweet the final days of summer. We went and walked with daddy at lunch the day I took this picture. Can you believe this is just outside his office? A field of rolling hills and beauty? It's heavenly. Our son enjoyed the little lunchtime trek with daddy and of course he is always with stick in hand.

I Love Blue
We had our first cold day yesterday! Frost in the morning and we wore our sweatshirts for the first time. Is Fall nearly here? The kids commented as we walked to the bus stop down the street, "Mom, I can see your breath!" Oh, yes, it is definitely coming - Fall. One of my favorite seasons for all the colors in the trees and the change of season. And speaking of colors. I am often asked what my favorite color is and I always answer BLUE! I just love blue. When our son was born and grew to have blue eyes I was captivated and so excited. We were not certain if they would change to another color or if they would stay blue. At four-years-old they remain forever blue. :)
Some exciting things are happening for Angela Schwartz Photography! Please check back to learn what they are soon. :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

1st Day of School
Feeling Crafty
So I caught the craft bug this weekend. Yah, it ususally happens to me with the coming of Fall and the back-to-school new clothes rush. In shopping for the kids for school and thinking about their clothing needs I was thinking about the cold days to come and about hats. I like hats. I'm liking them more and more and so I've been noticing them. I've been seeing alot of knitted and crocheted hats and decided to give it a try and make some. I haven't crochet in a long time but it comes back to you just like riding a bike. :) And so, I got some new yarn and watched a youtube video that guided me with the general beanie hat pattern. Then I was off and whipped out these two yesterday. Ok, so they aren't perfect and they are pretty boring in stitch (nothing fancy or too complicated) but it was fun and not too difficult to do. The kids loved that they got special made hats. Fun huh! So, here they are. My first pre-Fall creations! Oh and guess what everyone is getting for Christmas this year. :)***
