Ladies at 'The Hood'

Meet the ladies in my family, the four generations! This was our ladies weekend that we have done a couple times before and it is a lot of fun. I enjoy the girl time and reconnecting with everyone. We stayed at a coastal side home and enjoyed the views from the house by a warm fireplace. The weather wasn't too cooperative and rain and clouds visited often but we didn't let it get us down. Here we visited a nearby lodge and ran out to the lawn by the docks to setup for our group shot. I didn't have my standard zoom (it's still in the shop) and so I had to use my big guy (70-200mm) on a tripod and run myself back and forth to set the camera up for the shot (I really have to buy a wireless romote!). So despite the cold, clouds and our jacket-less selves, we smiled and played for the camera. Thanks gals for putting up with my setup and for a fun time together. I really enjoyed visiting with each of you and just being together.

The black and white version.
Here we are all admiring the little ones...well, accept me as you can see I was watching the camera (oopps).
And yup, another conversion to bw.

Ok, time for some fun! I had to get us jumping and laughing and just enjoying the shoot. We had a good workout for this shot and worked up a nice appetite for breakfast at the lodge. Thanks for the wonderful breakfast Auntie G. (Sorry your face is covered in this one but I just loved the laughter and jumping of the others.)

Here's another take where we are all visable. :) I blurred the background for effect. I should've shot more wide open (For the photogs who are reading this, I was at f/5.6 and I should've been at 2.8 since my camera was like 20' from the group and then I would've had this nice bokeh. Also, I used my calibration target for this so the color is spot on. :) )
And this in bw.
We had a fun time. Thanks for the ladies weekend all!
And glad you stopped by to visit my blog. If you want prints of any of these let me know and I can get some for you.
