Webs & Texture

Welcome Autumn days....

Yesterday morning my son and I went on a web photoshoot together. He scouted out the webs and I did the shooting. I was most pleased when he found this web that I just walked passed and overlooked but was dazzled when I came over to find this! A web build right on the side of this simple lawn /utility trailer. The trailer is an old weathered thing and has lots of texture, LOVE THAT. Morning dew beaded up on the side of it and also on the web itself further enhancing it. What a find! I love the spookey effect and sense of alarm that red creates.
And so, our scouting proved that fall is the busiest time of year for spiders. Webs gallore I tell you! They were everywhere and it was so much fun to see all the various kinds of webs. None of the spiders were out however. They must have been hiding in the leaves for cover and waiting for the dew to dry. Fine by me...I respect the spider but they do give me the hebejebes! Below is another web my son found. I love the lighting here and how the beaded water really shows up. Aren't spiders some of the most amazing artisits?!

This was the last web I shot. I ran out of card space! Had a small 1G card in because my others were full and you know what...those fill up quickly!

Lakeside Sunset

Last night we went to our usual lakeside pickleball court at one of our favorite relatives homes. A beautiful place I tell ya! We arrived around 6:30pm and I saw the yummie light and placed the seed of sand toys into my sons head and he quickly ran down to the water's edge to eat his sandwich and play in the sand. He loves that stuff! He's a beach boy - gets it from his mommy. Ahem..anyway. I had so much fun as he was captive and enjoying himself. I just love my little guy! Anyway, without further gabbing....here he is ....

Just FYI: I have a new watermark this post. It has come to my attention recently that people are actually printing off my photos with the watermarks or cutting them off and using the photos (you know who you are). Please note that all of my photos are copyrighted and unless I have sold you the files, photo rights, or have sold or given you written permission to use a photo for your website display or downloading for print it is considered theft and is illegal. I work very hard to produce these images. Please be respectful.

On a lighter note, I am currently in the process of designing my company website. It is long and grueling work and I have designed and tossed a couple sites already. Back to the drawing board. I hope to have my home page up by the end of this month - more if I'm extra happy with my results! I am also in the process of designing holiday cards! So, if you are among the traditional who mail out photo greeting cards please consider me for your family photo greeting card this year. I will be offering a Holiday Special which includes a discounted sitting fee + package (cards and 5x7 or 8x10 print). Please check back here within a few more weeks for samples.

Here he is running towards me. I just love it. The light was so warm and the Autumn colors are really singing here.

My little man eating his dinner by the lake. Tuna sandwich with a pickle on wheat bread and an apple juice box. Mmm ... (What can I say, we were excited to get to the lake!)

Here he is talling me. "Mom, stop doing that." He didn't want me to take anymore pictures of him while he was eating. As my shutter was "click clicking" away.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Here!

My new camera! Yup, I got a new one. Hooray! Here's some test shots I took with it today just after I got it out of the box and put a lens on it. Oh me, oh my! I have lots to learn with it but so far I'm liking what I'm seeing. =) I'm off to go for a sunset walk and take my new baby with me. Here is our son happily playing his guitar for me and then walking in our woods looking for insects. He's not much for posing so I had to be quick and entertaining.

Retirement Celebration

Over 30-years of working at the same company and on August 31st he retired! Friends, co-workers and family came together to congratulate and celebrate the next chapter of his life - retired life. Though he has been retired less than 48 hours he is and was already talking about his next job. Yup, he's ready to go back to work but I think he will just have to try on the retired life for a few weeks and he might just change his mind.

Congratulations on your achievement of the many years on the job!

She wants to be a lap dog. Kisses from the family pooch.
